I really don't have much to say about this Unit except that it is short and it starts off easy and gives students a false sense of security at the beginning. I have many that when we get to compound and absolute value inequalities they flounder because they don't want to have to work harder. I can't wait until next year to try out a few new journals for this unit from various places. Stay tunes for Aug/Sept for more posts for my 17-18 school year. |
Lesson 1: Writing Ineqalities
| I think this is the third foldable I have used for this lesson. I never seem to "love" anything I do for this lesson until I did this one. I can not remember where I got this one from, but I know it was FREE!!!!! |
Lesson 2: Solving & Graphing Inequalities
Lesson 3: Solving Multi-Step Inequalities
| This is a generic and boring foldable to get the job done. I am still searching for something better and more "glamorous" for this topic. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. |
Lesson 4: Compound Inequalities
This is a foldable I have used the past few years and it is ok. I plan on using one from Math = Love for next year. There is one like this one on tpt but not for free. I made this one because I'm cheap and don't like paying for things that should be free. I understand people want to make money, but hey, we are all teachers and we didn't make tons of money, so I going to share anything I made for FREE and I will share anything I have gotten for FREE.
Lesson 5: Solving Absolute Value Equations & Inequalities
First, I want to say I love teaching this lesson, BUT not with this foldable. I found one like this a few years back and it wasn't free so I made my own and it was old school cut and paste. I don't like using it because one it is not digital and I can't make changes, two I don't feel that it is effective, but it was all I had and I just add to it with the classwork. I found a new one that I am going to use next year. Of course I found it at Math = Love here. I will have to include some inequalities because it is all equations, but I'll figure that out when I get to it next year.
